Tips On Cleaning Your ABS Sensor On Your Own

The automotive industry is renewed by ABS. The Antilock Braking System can help your car get a control and stop at the same time. However, you should make proper maintenance and regular check up for ABS to protect for yourself. A red light will alarm you to do it.

ABS Sensor is exposed to harsh conditions so you can possibly come up with the ABS brake indication due to the same reason. There is no need to go to a mechanic and waste your money on the high paid services. You can do this all by yourself in just a few easy steps.

You should start the whole job by loosening the nuts that hold your wheel tight to the frame. Once you have loosened them, start rising your car on the jack to a height where you can easily remove the front wheels while the car is secure and stable. Remove both the front wheels. Turn the steering wheel to the opposite of the side you are working at, for an instance, if you are at the passenger side; turn the steering wheel the other side to have a nice workplace.

The ABS wheel sensor is attached to the suspension and can be easily detached using a ranch. Undoing a few bolts and the sensor would be in your hands. Make sure that you apply no excess force to do this. Once the Sensor is in your hand, you can wipe it using the rag that you had for the cleaning job. There is no need to use any chemical liquid; just soap water would be enough. Once cleaned, place the sensor back and you would have an ABS as good as fresh.

It is always a healthy practice to clean your ABS sensors periodically making sure that they provide you with the security that you want.
